Lumion 5.3 includes many wonderful new features.

 At a glance

Ease of use is critical when it comes to the efficient creation of architectural visualizations. The PureGlass®
user interface technology makes Lumion simple to use. You could even say that drawing with a pencil
is more difficult than creating appealing presentations in Lumion! Lumion 5.3 contains a number
of interface changes which make actions even more intuitive, including the management of models, objects
 and materials.
Since Lumion is increasingly used as the standard solution for BIM visualizations, constant innovation is
crucial. In addition to the many new features highlighted in this web page, Lumion 5.3 also contains more
than 50 general modifications aimed at improving the overall Lumion experience.

Building Scenes

Automatic relief for imported images

All Lumion materials already have a relief definition included but if you import images for your materials, they normally do not include any relief. The images only contain color information but nothing about the actual structure of the material. In Lumion 5.3, a new feature in the material editor automatically creates a relief definition for imported color images. This means, for example, that an imported wood image results in a material which appears as though it contains actual wood grain. When you import a brick image the material has enhanced detail and ahows the depth of the bricks and mortar. It’s a wonderful feature!

Flexible Object Selection and Movement Mode

Flexible Object Selection and Movement Mode

With Lumion 5.3, selecting objects is now significantly easier. Objects from different categories, such as people, trees and so on can now be simply selected and moved around your scene. For example, you might need to move a house with the furniture in it, or move any combination of trees, cars, people and other objects. This mode also makes it easier to select groups of objects by simply dragging a box by left-clicking the mouse.

Lock movement to an axis

Lock movement to an axis

Time is often of the essence in the production of visualizations and any feature which saves time is more than welcome! Lumion 5.3 makes it easier to restrict movement to one axis. This prevents you from moving objects in directions other than the desired direction, saving time in tweaking the placement and alignment of objects.

Content search function

The object library has become so large that it now contains thousands of objects. The new search function helps you quickly find items in the content library. For example, it is now easy to filter the tree library by keywords like: oak, palm or similar.

Still Image Rendering

Hyperlight® in print resolution

Lighting is crucial in making compelling images. Hyperlight® is a physically-based method of incorporating light reflections into a scene and greatly improves the lighting quality. This proprietary technology was specially developed for Lumion 5.
In Lumion 5.3 you can now enable Hyperlight® when rendering images in Print & Poster resolution. Thanks to this improvement, you can now create print resolution images with amazing lighting
